Harris, George Clayton â age 75 of Bear River, passed away suddenly on August 12, 2013 at Grand View Manor. Born on May 28, 1938, he was the son of the Late Fred and Pearl (Barry) Harris. George was a loving man who brought love and laughter where ever he went, also an avid gardener, loved to cook and greatly enjoyed the company of others. George is survived by his wife Shirley Harris, Cape Breton; daughters Goldie (MacEachern) Pick, Waterville, Kelly Harris, BC; son Joel, Halifax; step-sons Mitchell and Ken Nugent; step-daughter Eleanor Nugent; grandchildren Rose, James, Katlin (Dawn) Burns, all of BC, Tyler Bennet and Mika Pick, both of Waterville; great grandchildren Kaelyn, James, Danyul, and Baby Burns; brothers and sisters : Dora(Alan deceased) Height, Rossway, Marjorie (Roy deceased) Keast of West Paradise, Florence (Gordon) Morine, Kentville , Brenda (Noah) Halliday, North Range, Eleanor (Eugene) VanTassel, Bear River , Richard (Heather) Harris, Long Creek NB, Patricia (Earl) Goucher, Waldec, Deborah (Wesley) Tidd, Waldec East, Ronald (Leslie) Harris, Bear River, Steven(Lynn) Harris, Bear River, and Holly(Darrel) Comeau, St Alphonse; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by both parents and step mother Mary (Saulnier) Harris; son Troy; brother Dale; nephews Matthew, Darren and Michael and niece Sherry. Donations in memory of George may be made to the Alzheimerâs Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of life will be held at Grand View Manor on August 16th at 2 p.m. Bring your stories and share them.
