Pineo, Audley Giffin age 73 years of Canning, passed away on September 4, 2013 at the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Kentville on April 4, 1940; he was the son of the late Clark and Isabelle (Carter) Pineo. Audley spent his working years as a fisherman, construction worker and carpenter. He loved to sing and entertain; he was the lead vocalist of the Country Pebbles Band, which was one of the top groups in the Valley, always playing to a packed house. He enjoyed the time spent with his band members. In later years he became an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his 5 dogs. Left with fond and loving memories are his sons Tony (Heather) of Wolfville, Audley (Kim) of Kingsport, Phillip of Kentville, Paul (Irma) of Bedford, Geoffrey (Angela) of Canning, Patrick of Canning,; daughters Sheila Jess (Kevin) of Medford, Laura Marcotte (Guy) of Greenwood; 23 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; brothers James (Marion) of Canning, Phillip (Marilyn) of Canning, Albert (Frances) of Chipman Brook; sisters Julia Dykens (Arthur) of Canning and Wava Rafuse (Maurice) of Ontario; special friend Jocelean Piercy; also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife Gloria in March 2013; brother Hartley and sister Mary. Visitation to be held on Monday, September 9, 2013 7-9pm at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville Chapel; from where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at 2pm with Rev. David Garrett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Audley may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
