Metzler, Clyde Henry – age 93 years, of Arlington; passed away peacefully at the Valley Regional Hospital on July 21, 2013. Born in Arlington on October 24, 1919; he was the son of the late Fred and Lulu (Coleman) Metzler. Clyde worked the majority of his life as a beef farmer and woodsman; he also spent many years working in the Christmas tree lots. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Joyce (nee Jack); son William Metzler and his wife Heather Ann of Arlington; sister Geraldine and her husband Reginald Baker of Fall River; grandchildren Kevin, Karen, Kristy, Meagan, Matthew and Thomas, great grandchildren Mariah, Austin, Tad, Noah and Nora; also by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Nancy Durling; son Kevin Metzler; son in law Kirk Durling; sisters Kathleen Olsen and Ireen Hatt; sister in law Viola Metzler; brother Ransford Metzler; brothers in law Vagn Olsen and Avery Hatt. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2pm from the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville Chapel with Eric Lockhart and Murray Egger officiating. Burial to follow at the Pereau cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff on Medical A at the Valley Regional Hospital and Evergreen Nursing Home for all their love, care and compassion; It will never be forgotten.
