Lowe, Cyril Edmund - 88, of Aylesford; passed away in the Soldier?¢s Memorial Veterans Unit, Middleton on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Born in Millville, he was the son of the late Maynard and Winnifred (Hodges). Cyril worked in construction engineering on the Greenwood Base for 35 years as well as looking after his farm. He actively served in England and France during the Second World War. Cyril loved working in the outdoors. He had a wonderful, helpful, witty personality and had lots of friends. Cyril will be sadly missed by his daughters, Nancy (Mark) Wisted, Cambridge; Mary Ann, Aylesford; Jane (Troy) Lowe-Woytenko, Aylesford; son Edmund, Aylesford; grandchildren Calum; Hailey; Jade; step grandchildren Rebecca; Rachel; sister Helen Jefferson, Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Cyril is predeceased by his wife Mildred (Vidito); son Douglas; brother Theodore; and sisters Violet; and Peggy. A legion tribute will take place on Thursday January 10th, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. with Chaplain Bud Ewing officiating, followed by a visitation until 9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. At Cyril?¢s request a graveside service will be held on Friday in the Aylesford Union Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Judith Saunders officiating. Donations in Cyril?¢s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
