Duncan, Thomas Everton - 86, Weston; passed away peacefully on Thursday December 27, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Braeside, Ontario, he was a son of the late Thomas and Pearl (nee Jack). Tom served in the RCAF during the Second World War. He was a member of the Berwick United Church where he served as a past treasurer, and an elder. Tom and his wife were also members of the Berwick Belles and Beaus Square Dancers. Over the years he volunteered at the local food bank and enjoyed helping out in any way he could. Tom is survived by his daughters Lynn, Berwick; Laurie (Wayne) Ward, Coldbrook; Leslie (Wayne) Best, Weston; Lisa, Weston; Lisbeth (Murray) Jones, South Berwick; grandchildren Julie; Denise Ward-Chase; Thomas Best; Rachel Best; great grandchildren Nathan; Michael Chase; Gavin Best; Keera Best; sister-in-law Ann Burrows, Napanee, Ontario; and niece Carolyn McGill, Toronto, Ontario. Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (nee Burrows); brothers Lloyd; Alex; Ellwood; Ray; and sisters Catherine; June; and Estelle. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick from where a funeral service will take place on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Woods officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Berwick United Church.
