STURGEON, Leola Janet (Wentzell) (Veinotte) - 85, Berwick passed away December 12, 2012 in Grand View Manor. Born in Upper New Cornwall, she was a daughter of the late Laurie and Clover (Hallamore) Veinotte. Leola had been a member of the New Cornwall United Baptist Church for many years. She was also a member of the Waterville United Baptist Church. Leola was known for her generosity, making preserves and knitting blankets for the IWK. She was also well known for decorating cakes. Leola is survived by son Garnet (Wanda), Enfield; daughter Amber (James) Corkery, Dartmouth; brothers Brenton, New Cornwall, Lawrence, New Cornwall; Clarence, New Cornwall; sisters Frances Frank, Ontario, Geneva (Stanley) Dorey, Somerset, Melba Fancy, New Cornwall; grandchildren Tiffany, Jodi, Angela, Anthony, Kimberly, Amanda, Joseph; great-grandchildren Kayla, Courtney, Danielle, Russell, Alex, Logan, Seth and Brayden. Besides her parents, Leola was predeceased by her second husband Russell; first husband Elmer Wentzell; daughter Crystal Wentzell; brothers Douglas, Leland, Margeson, George; sister Hattie Taylor. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, December 13, 2012 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick where a funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday with Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Leola may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Cerebral Palsy Association.
