I am completely devastated by the news of Sandychr(39)s passing and my thoughts are with her family at this difficult time. I met Sandy through the Agent Orange Association and we all spent many years together fighting for the victims. She contributed so much with her passion for justice and worked so hard on behalf of all of us. She was one of a kind and I will never forget her. My sincerest condolences to you, Sue, and to all of her family. Marilynn

We communicated through email and I had the greatest respect for her knowledge as well as her unassuming manner.I send my Condolences and Prayers to all of her family.

We are so sorry to hear this sad news of your Mother passing. Our sympathies to you and all her family.
Remember me when flowers bloom
Early in the spring
Remember me on sunny days
In the fun that summer brings
Remember me in the fall
As you walk through the leaves of gold
And in the wintertime - remember me
In the stories that are told
But most of all remember
Each day - right from the start
I will be forever near
For I live within your heart

I continue to be devastated, saddened and shocked by the news of Sandy passing away.....I first met Miksam (Sandychr(39)s online nickname) by her tapping me on the shoulder to introduce herself....just before we gave the truth to the onstage panel and live news coverage at the CFB Gagetown meeting on Agent Orange. Sandy and I had corresponded back and forth for several months before that meeting on June 21, 2005. What most people did not know is that Sandy was the original person who filed for A freedom of information request for information on Agent Oange. This resulted in the government giving what became known as the Agent Orange File (A-2004-00207). She gave me the file name which was then sent to me by DND and despite my badgering Sandy to deliver the file to the public via the public meeting in June, she wanted me to do it and thus we worked together on the delivery of this historic document. After the meeting we became close friends working for hundreds of hours on the phone over that summer. During that summer, together we wrote the website which still contains a lot of her work to this day. We met again in the fall of that year when I visited my mumchr(39)s place outside Digby. She used to drop by when I was in Nova Scotia and we shared many great conversations, walks on the beach and as a result we became close friends. We talked about the Agent Orange issue and that fall, she, Art Connolly and myself formed the Agent Orange Association of Canada. She preferred to stay in the background and pressed me into acting as the spokesperson for the association. She was so unassuming, a true salt-of-the-earth person but with a strident and fierce dedication to achieving justice for the military personnel and civilians. She was a true political activist although she would have denied that label, saying that she was just doing what anyone would have done, she spoke passionately about her husband dying of Agent Orange and it was this and the sicknesses of thousands of others that drove her to be more than she was, a true crusader for the rights of those who could not speak for themselves.
I will miss her more than words can say. A part of me has been wrested from me. Rest in peace our sweet Miksam, you have earned it.
