BLACKBURN, Desmond Wayne - 70, Hillsvale, Hants Co. passed away October 15, 2012 in the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Hillary James and Helen Phyllis (Pickrem) Blackburn. Desmond is survived by his wife Sharon Louise (Cooke); son, Mark (Jenn), Mount Uniacke; daughter, Tammy-Lynne (Kevin), Halifax; brothers, (Twin) Darrell (Madeline), Hillsvale, Gary (Sylvia), Hillsvale, Francis (Patty), Mount Uniacke, Wade (Cheryl), Lower Sackville, Tim (Sharon), New Minas; sisters, Fay (Gifford) Mullen, Mount Uniacke, Linda (Bob) Legere, Lower Sackville, Jane (Joey) Legere, Lower Sackville, Kathy (Scott) MacPherson, Lower Sackville; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Desmond?¢s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday October 19, 2012 in the Mount Uniacke Legion. Donations in memory of Desmond may be made to the Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 1E7.
