HUNTLEY, Muriel Christine (Sanford) - 83, Berwick, formerly of Medford and New Minas passed away September 17, 2012 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canard, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (Hines) Sanford. Muriel was a busy homemaker, raising six boys. Family and friends were important to her; she was close to them all. Muriel liked to take the bus and go shopping with her friend Mildred. She worked as a farm labourer at Woolaver Farms in Medford. Muriel liked quilting, step dancing and fiddle music. She was a member of the Centreville Baptist Church. Muriel is survived by sons, Kenneth (Agnes), Weymouth North, Blaine (Jean), White Rock, Eugene (Paula), Kentville, Larry (Betty), Canning, Dale (Connie), Sheffield Mills; sisters, Madeline, Steam Mill, Eleanor, Halifax; brothers, Gerald, Canning, Freeman, New Brunswick; seventeen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Muriel was predeceased by her husband Melbourne; son Wayne (survived by Corrine Brothers), sister, Ella Sanford and brothers, Roscoe, Keith, Howard and Ralph. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. A graveside funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Habitant Cemetery with Rev. Marc Potvin officiating. Following the service the family will greet relatives and friends in the Emmanuel United Church Vestry, Kingsport. Donations in memory of Muriel may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, The John T. McMillan Memorial Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. Muriel?¢s family would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Grand View Manor for their love and kindness shown to their mother.
