Loomer, Beatrice Irene (Patterson) - 97, formerly of Weston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 12, 2012; at Evergreen Home for Special Care with her family by her side. Born on October 26, 1914; she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Agnes (Clem) Patterson. She was a member of the Aylesford Baptist Church and a life member of the Women?¢s Institute of Nova Scotia. Beatrice and her husband Charlie owned a dairy farm in Weston and they were very active in the community. Visitors were always welcome in her home and treated to good home cooking. She was also an avid quilter. Beatrice is survived by children Audrey (Gerald) Barkhouse, Coldbrook; Beulah (Kenneth) Dorey, Weston; Lindsay, Brampton, ON; and Bruce, Sherwood Park, AB; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 1976; brothers Lester, Avon, Cyril, Earl and Ralph; sisters Edna, Dorothy, and Madeline. The family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen for the care our mother received while she resided there. A special thanks to Darlene and Gerald Vidito for the loving care they gave our mother during the years she lived with them, to Greta Sweet for being such a caring roommate at Evergreen and to Dr. Blair Nichols for his special care. By request there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Aylesford Baptist Church with Reverend Clyde Lowe officiating; followed by a reception. Private family burial will take place in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers; donations in Beatrice?¢s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
