MacKinnon, Doris Norma - 100, of Wolfville, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, on July 5, 1912 Doris was the daughter of the late Capt. Norman and Julie (Patterson) MacKinnon, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her sister, Viva MacKinnon, and her brother, Dalton MacKinnon. Doris was a registered nurse and will be remembered for her compassionate and caring personality. She was a talented painter in water colors, acrylics and oils, having begun her interest in art at an early age, and was also accomplished in handiwork. She was capable, kind, enjoyed people and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. Funeral Service will be held at the Wolfville United Baptist Church on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 10:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Barry Morrison officiating. Interment will be held in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. Donations in Doris's memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation.
