Armstrong, Jennie Louise (Cahill) - 91, of Orchard Villa, Berwick, formerly of Ogilvie?¢s Wharf; passed away peacefully on Thursday June 28, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Harbourville, she was a daughter of the late James and Alice (Hallamore) Cahill; and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a founding member of the Burlington Hall and took great pleasure in baking and cooking for community suppers to help raise money for its construction. Jennie was dedicated to her family and friends. She took great pride in her home and kept it spotless at all times. One of her favorite hobbies was knitting and she made outfits and afghans for her own family as well as provided for neighborhood families; her specialty was knitting socks and sweaters. Jennie will be sadly missed by her sons Derill (Marie), Burlington; Merle (Sue), Waterloo, ON; daughter Faylene (Sam) Lowrie, Dartmouth; grandchildren Leander; Andrew (Margo); Daniel (Tammy); Melissa (Doug) Connors; Michael; Sean (Lizzy); Jennifer (Michael) Huson; Stephanie (Tyler) Reid; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jennie was predeceased by her husband Murray; brothers Fred, Warren; sisters Ruthe, Ellen, Marion, and Marie. Family would like to pass on their gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Orchard Villa; you are angels. Family flowers only. Donations in Jennie?¢s memory may be made to the Kings County VON or to a charity of choice. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick with Reverend Marilyn Rose officiating; followed by burial in the Berwick Cemetery.
