STEELE. John Arthur - Jackì³ - 77, Lockhartville passed away at home on Wednesday June 20, 2012. Born in Sutton, Ontario, John was a son of the late James and Mary Jane (Oliver) Steele. Before moving to Nova Scotia, John served had served in the military and was an Army Serviceman with SC 753 B Company. John had worked for many years with C.H. Norton Bus Lines in Ontario, driving school busses, transit busses and tour busses. After moving to Nova Scotia, John worked for several farms, the latest being Elderkin's Farm, Greenwich, NS. John loved to work his vegetable gardens. He also loved his pets, especially his cat - Tinyì³. John may not have expressed it often, but he loved all his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, step children, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren very much. He will be sadly missed by them all. John is survived by his wife, Patricia (Barkhouse); children, Eric (Karen), Stony Plains Alberta; Debra (Melvin) Williams, Perth Andover New Brunswick; Carol,Brampton Ontario; Murray (Cathy) Lockhartville Nova Scotia, John Jr. Stony Plains Alberta; Marlene (Kevin) Williams Perth Andover New Brunswick; Monique (Carl) Fraser, Halls Harbour Nova Scotia; Holly (Daniel) Clarke, Dartmouth Nova Scotia; James; 19 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; step children, Leonard (Jessie) Schofield, Alan (Lisa) Schofield, both of Bear Lake, BC, Annette Schofield, Black River, NS; Glen (Debbie) Schofield, Prince George, BC; Stanley (Connie) Schofield, Gaspereau, NS; 8 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; sisters, Gladys (Harold) Shea, Marilyn (Barry) MacMaster, Helen. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by son William in infancy, son Garnet; a grandson and a step grandson, Neil; brother, Howard, half brother Eugene and half sister Frances. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday June 25, 2012 followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. both in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will be in the Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. Donations in memory of John may be made to the charity of choice.
