STILLMAN, Dolly May (Brown) - 83, Kentville, formerly of Cheverie. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, Dolly May Stillman (Brown) after a courageous battle with cancer on May 22, 2012. Born in Bramber, she was the daughter of the late Percy & Hazel (Sanford) Brown. Dolly is survived by daughters Carol (Rick), Gloria, sister Velva and brother Delbert, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Dolly was predeceased by two sons, Owen and John; brother, Guy; sisters, Viola, Lillian, Dorothy, Daisy, Pansy, Goldie & Joyce. Mother did Practical Nursing in previous years. She was a member of the Cheverie United Church, Ladies UCW and Choir for many years and enjoyed being a substitute Sunday School teacher. Our mother will be fondly remembered for her strength of character, her unconditional love and loyalty, and was forever proud of her children, always standing by us through our storms of life. She loved all of her family even those whom she had to love from a distance. Mother loved music and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice entertaining many over the years and played acoustic/steel guitar, which includes her volunteer time at Windsor Nursing Homes. She loved wildlife and enjoyed watching her favorites deer and the humming birds. She was known for her keen mind and quick wit. Mother drew comfort from her time with her family/friends especially in the last few years, some to mention were Edie and Mona. Mother leaves the legacy of her deep rooted faith in the Lord being a true prayer warrior. Mother had a big heart for all and was very thankful for the constant love and care she received from her family, her caregiver Gloria with grand-daughters Nadine and Brigette who were always willing to lend a helping hand. Also, filling her last days with some laughter from old memories as did Carol and Rick, and with many special moments with her great-grandchildren. May you rest in peace mama in the arms of Jesus and now be singing with the Angels. A Memorial Service will be held at Cheverie United Church, Cheverie, Hants County, on Saturday May 26th, at 2pm. Family flowers only with a family interment at a later date. Donations in her memory can be made to Cheverie United Church or a charity of your choice.
