Obituary of Doris Harvey Vavasour

VAVASOUR, Doris Harvey (Dawe) - 91, Greenwich, Nova Scotia, formerly of Wolfville, Nova Scotia and St. John?¢s, Newfoundland, passed away May 14, 2012 in Blomidon Court, Greenwich, Nova Scotia. Doris was born in St. John?¢s, Newfoundland she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Jemima (Harvey) Dawe. Doris graduated from Bishop Spencer College, and then entered Grace Hospital School of Nursing in 1940. Doris graduated in 1943 and was a Registered Nurse for over 34 years. She was a member of the Sir Robert Borden Chapter IODE Wolfville and a member of the St John's Anglican Church in Wolfville. She is survived by two sons, James and Gerald; Grandson, James Charles, Texas; great granddaughter Kora; Sister Christine. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Charles; sisters Enid Humphries, Jeanne MacIntosh, Joan Carter; Brothers Douglas Dawe, Robert Dawe, and Gerald Dawe; many relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. There will be a private graveside committal service on Friday May 18, 2012 in the St. John?¢s Anglican Church Cemetery, Wolfville.
