Blaine Kenneth Baxter of Windsor, Hants Co.,N.S., passed away peacefully Friday, April 27th, 2012 at the age of 83. He resided at Dykeland Lodge where he has been lovingly cared for since 2003. Blaine was a free spirited man who marched to the beat of his own drum and enjoyed life to the fullest. He hitch hiked across Canada five times, and was always eager to travel west every spring. He worked as a landscaper in his younger years and was an avid woodsman. He enjoyed playing guitar and fun times with family. Blaine was predeceased by his parents, Mary Ellen Baxter (Macleod) and Norman William Baxter, brother Clarence, brother in law Ken Skelhorn, and a sister and brother in infancy. He is survived by his sisters Ivy Skelhorn of Windsor, and Norma Etter (Mervyn Harvey) of Ellershouse, brother Chester (Margaret) Baxter, Ont., sister in law Geraldine Baxter, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, and several nieces and nephews. No visitation or funeral service by request, burial at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Catherine Smith and Dr. Mark Kazimirski, also to the staff at Dykeland Lodge who were always there for Blaine. We are truly grateful.
