MARRIOTT, Marjorie Helen (Johnson) - 80, Wolfville, passed away at home on March 14, 2012 surrounded by her family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late George and Mabel Adeline - Maeì³ (Brown) Johnson. Marjorie attended Herring Cove School and Queen Elizabeth High School. She graduated from the nursing program at the Halifax Infirmary in 1951 where she worked briefly before starting her family. She enjoyed gardening and the ocean and walking on the beach. During the many years she lived in Sussex, NB, she was a member of the African Violet Club. Marjorie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed life and cherished her family, who will miss her dearly. Marjorie is survived by her sons Gary Gallant, Lebanon, TN; Ronald (Maria) Gallant, Oshawa, ON; David (Theresa) Marriott, Sussex, NB; Craig (Kerry) Marriott, Riverview, NB; daughters Patricia Gallant, Wolfville; Lori (John Lathrop) Santoro, Upper LaHave; grandchildren, David, Joseph, Alex, Matthew, Michael, Stephen, Joslynn, Christopher, Jonathan, Shannon, Benjamin, Owen, Ryan; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Gabrielle; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Marjorie was predeceased by her first husband George M. Gallant; her second husband Donald A. Marriott; brothers Norman Johnson, Bernard Johnson and Ronald Johnson. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Friday March 16, 2012 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville, and from 9:00-10:30 a.m., Saturday March 17, 2012 followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. both in Blessed Mother Teresa Parish at 6032 Normandy Dr, Halifax with Father Gerald David officiating. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Sackville Drive, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory of Marjorie may be made to World Vision Canada, The Canadian Cancer Society,The Lung Association of Nova Scotia, MS Society of Canada, or to the charity of choice.
