English, June Helen- June English passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on February 18, 2012 at the age of 90. June spent many of her years in Campbellton, NB. and is survived by children, Karen (Stephen) Ash of Wolfville; Jock(Pam Reid) English of Shediac, N.B.;Keltie(Mark Sadler) English of Halifax; grandchildren, Peter Ash, Neil Ash, Fraser Ash, Meredith Sadler, and Leigh Sadler, and great-grandchild, Lincoln Ash. June spent most of her youth in the Courtenay/Comox area on Vancouver Island with her mother and three brothers and retained a fondness for the area all of her life. In 1945, at the end of Second World War, she met Joe English who was stationed at the nearby Comox Airfield. June and Joe were married in 1945 and Joe convinced June to move east with him - for just a few yearsì³, which extended to 60 years. June immersed herself in life in Campbellton with Joe and was active in golfing, skiing, curling as well as volunteer work with the Restigouche Music Festival, Christ Church Anglican and the IODE. She used her eye for detail and superb needlework skills to design and craft cherished quilts for her family. A summer cottage near Campbellton became one of June?¢s favorite places. She grew elaborate flower and vegetable gardens and there are many memories of the fantastic family meals at the cottage prepared from her garden. June, who was an accountant in her early days, championed education and her children and grandchildren benefited from her constant encouragement. She thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and more recently her great- grandson Lincoln and lived in Wolfville for the past six years to be closer to her family. There will be no visitation or memorial service. There will be a family remembrance service at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The Anglican Church, 6 Aberdeen St., Campbellton, NB E3N 2J4 or charity of choice.
