Montgomery, Alice Josephine (Norman) - Alice dedicated her 91 years of life to her family and friends. She was born in Weymouth, Nova Scotia on April 8, 1920 and died peacefully in her sleep on November 20, 2011 in Wolfville. Her family was the centre of her life, she drew great delight in knowing and hearing stories all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a positive attitude on life, a quick wit, strong opinions, kind words, and easily gained the respect of those who knew her. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Spencer, in 1987. She is survived by her three children: Sherry (Curry) Alders, Upper Kingsclear, NB; Peter (Debbie Riopel), Kincardine, ON; and John, Kincardine, ON; four grandchildren, Geoffrey (Christina) Alders, Noonan, NB; Christie (Dennison) Ludford, Mazerolle Settlement, NB; Kari (Jeffrey) Alders-Carr, Geary, NB; Spencer Montgomery, Kincardine, ON; one step grandchild Chad Riopel, Singapore; and three great grandchildren, Tyler Charlton, Mazerolle Settlement; Cayden Alders , Grady Alders, both of Noonan. Alice is also predeceased by her parents Percy and Nettie (Jones) Norman and daughter-in-law Christine Montgomery . The family would like to acknowledge the kindness of Aldrich and Ann Misner, Theresa Preston, Cindy Foster, and Valerie Haynes, as well as the staff of the Wolfville Nursing Homes Limited. Friends are welcome to join with family to honor Alice?¢s life. The funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home in Wolfville with Lay Chaplain Laurie Perrin officiating; interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Reception to follow. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
