DAVIDSON, Douglas Vernon - 72, of Auburn, Kings Co., passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, on Friday, November 4, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Rodney and Vera (Coldwell) Davidson. Surviving are his children, VickiLynn (Jim) DeBruin, Pine Grove; Susan, Kathy Cook, Donna Wilmot,and Douglas, all of the United States; step-children, Janice (Paul) Rhynold , Canning; Linda (William) Patterson, Halls Harbour; Althea Legge, Auburn; grandchildren, Brielle, Saralynn, Stephen, Nathan, Ben and Ryan; brothers, Angus (Bessie), Malcolm (Marie) and Murray (Carol), all of Gaspereau Mountain; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by wife, Marie (Bennett); brothers, Gordon, Maynard, Lawrence, Lorimer and Harland; sisters, Blanche and Christine. Visitation for Doug will take place from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011 with Chaplain Jim Norton. Following the service there will be a reception held at the Mac Centre, 2080 Bishop Mountain Road, Kingston, Nova Scotia. Donations in his memory may be made to the Mac Centre, Kingston or to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
