CORKUM, Dorothy Mae - 89, Cambridge Sta., Kings Co., passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Victoria Harbour, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ida (Freeman) Mapplebeck. Dorothy loved her gardens, flowers and enjoyed photography. She was devoted to her family and friends. Surviving are her son, Alan (Lillian), Cambridge Sta.; daughter, Elaine Toney, Kentville; grandsons, Philip and James (Carla) Dunham; great-grandchildren, Deanna and Lukas Dunham; sisters, Gladys Kenneally, Victoria Harbour; Rose Kenneally, Ontario; Ruby Smith, Nictaux; sisters-in-law, Ramona Mapplebeck, Aylesford; Leona Mapplebeck, Harbourville; Marion Mapplebeck, Saint John, N.B.; a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Carleton - Philì³ Corkum; son-in-law, Jerome Toney; granddaughter-in-law, Jenny Dunham; brothers, Ernest, Ira, Joseph and Paul Mapplebeck; brothers-in-law, Bernard Smith, Reginald and Carlyle Kenneally; sister-in-law, Frances Mapplebeck; a niece and a nephew. Visitation for Dorothy will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27. Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating with burial in St. Mary?¢s Anglican Cemetery, Auburn. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
