Hilchie, William C - 94, of Kentville, passed away on October 20, 2011 at Shannex, Orchard Court, Kentville. Born in Eastern Passage he was the son of the late Roy and Mabel (Vidito) Hilchie. Bill was a faithful member of the Kentville United Baptist Church where he served in many ways, cheerfully helping others. He was an enthusiastic trout fisherman and enjoyed hunting. In his earlier days, he played hockey. Bill was employed for 35 years at the Nova Scotia Sanatorium and the BFM Hospital. In 1962 he married Pearl Levy and their devotion to each other lasted until her passing in 2004. He will be deeply missed by his loving sisters, Alice - Bella쳌 Coy; Olive - Ollie쳌 (George) Preston, both of Hamilton, Ontario; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister Mary. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 10:50am on Monday, October 24th in the Kentville United Baptist Church from where a service will be held at 11am with Reverend Doctor John McNally officiating. A time of refreshments will follow in the C.E. Center. Interment will be held in the Elm Grove Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation to the care-givers through the latter years of Bill?¢s life, and to many faithful friends who brightened his days with visits and treats.
