DUNCAN, Marjorie Eleanor - 85, Weston, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, in the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born in Marlbank, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Ironeus and Helen (Allan) Burrows. Marjorie graduated in 1946 as a registered nurse from the Hotel Dieu Nursing School in Kingston, Ontario and worked at various locations, retiring from the Grand View Manor in Berwick. She was a member of the Berwick United Church and the Belles and Beaus Square Dancers. Surviving are her husband, Thomas E. Duncan, Weston; daughters, Lynn Duncan, Berwick; Laurie (Wayne) Ward, Coldbrook; Leslie (Wayne) Best; Lisa Duncan, all of Weston; Lisbeth (Murray) Jones, South Berwick; grandchildren, Julie Duncan, Denise Ward-Chase, Thomas and Rachel Best; great-grandchildren, Nathan Duncan, Michael Chase, Gavin and Kerra Best; sister, Ann Burrows, Napanee, Ont.; niece, Carolyn McGill, Toronto, Ont. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Marion McGill and Nadine Burrows. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Friday, August 19. Rev. Linda Winton officiating, with burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
