Haines, Dorothy Olia (Melanson) - 66, Lower Sackville, formerly of Waterford, Digby County. Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gulliver's Cove, Digby Co., she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Baker) Melanson. Dorothy's biggest love was her family. She is survived by her loving husband LLoyd; son Kenneth (Bernadette), Lower Sackville; daugthers Carol Haines, Lower Sackville; Mary Lynch, Mt. Uniacke; sisters Hilda (Billy) Graham, Lake Midway; Ethel (Will) Saulnier, Cornwallis; Joyce (Randy) Ryan, Gullivers Cove; grandchildren Corey, Cody, Sara, Shana, Sally, Cheryll, Jesse, great grandson Adrian; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her son-in-law Kevin and granddaughter Crystal. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 1 p.m. in the Rossway Baptist Cemetery, Digby Neck; with Deacon Reverend Mel Malton officiating. In lieu of flowers donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Digby Trinity Anglican Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
