WEIHERS, Alice Marguerite - Peggy- 79, Factorydale, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with family members by her side. Born in Aylesford East, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Acker) Murphy. Peggy and her husband had owned and operated a mix farm before owning and operating Weiher?¢s Convenience Store, Factorydale, for 27 and a half years. She was devoted to her family, friends and community. Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Frederick August Weihers, Grand View Manor, Berwick; children, Mary Ellen Goucher; Wanda Darlene (Wayne Sproule) McBride, all of Factorydale; Michael Frederick (Diane Jones) Weihers, Harmony; Anita Joy (Roger) Burns; Veronica Sharlene (Derek Meldrum) Weihers, all of Factorydale; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Helen (Percy) Foster, Aylesford; several nieces and nephews; chosen brother, Jerry Caldwell, Factorydale. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John Ambrose in infancy, Stedman McKay, William, Cecil and George Murphy; sisters, Ruth Dorey, Joyce Taylor and Thelma Veinott. Visitation for Alice will take place from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Monday, in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28. Rev. Douglas Porter officiating, with Interment in the Morristown Cemetery, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Aylesford and District Fire Department.
