PRIME, Inez Viola - 98, Harmony, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, in the Heart of the Valley Long Term Care Facility, Middleton. Born in Mahone Bay, Lunenburg Co., she was the eldest daughter of the late Dennis and Sophia (Keddy) Veinot. Inez had spent her early years in the Mahone Bay area, she was a graduate of the Provincial Normal College, Truro and had started teaching school at the age of 16 and continued to teach for 27 years at several rural schools in Kings, Annapolis and Lunenburg Counties. She married Frank Hanson Prime on November 16, 1934, in Harmony, where she lived until 2007, when she went to live with her daughter Gwen in Kingston. Inez was an active member of the Harmony Baptist Church, where she had served as clerk for 27 years, treasurer, Sunday school teacher and on various committees. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Inez was an avid gardener, loved to read and crochet. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughters, Gwendolyn Hudgins, Kingston; Nancy (John) Dekoe, Centreville; son, Delbert (Winnifred), Spryfield; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank (1992); brother, Clarence Veinot; sisters, Annie Veinot in infancy; Jean Gates; Ruby Simla and Pauline Lawrence. Visitation for Mrs. Prime will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7. Pastor Chuck McGuire officiating, with burial in the North Kingston Public Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the I.W.K.
