Dear all,
Ichr(39)m going to try again to say what I just wrote over the last twenty minutes. I lost it while spell checking. To me, Marguerite was many things. My regret is not telling her recently how much she meant to me. She did so much: opened her home to me, encouraged and loved me, taught me to write, to fish, to play marbles, to collect stamps, to be open to change. She encouraged me to go far and do great things (Ichr(39)m working on it Mrs. Lloyd). She listened to me as I tried to play her piano and introduced me to the wonders of pasta that didnchr(39)t come from a can. She was loved by many for making us feel special and for caring no matter our status in life. Every child was a gift that she helped to unwrap. She was a hero to me. She modeled her faith and was a woman of her word. I wrote about her in grad school as being the best teacher I ever had. She expected us to excel and so we did. If we had trouble she helped us be all that we could be. She had a beauty that you could see in the way she grew her flowers. I was able to look at Godchr(39)s creation (the flowers, the garden, the birds, the fish, the moose that we almost hit on one fishing trip!) with her eyes and see wonders. Many have commented on the patience I have with my five children. I try to treat them as Marguerite treated all of the children she interacted with-as special people with their own individual strengths and weaknesses to help be all they can be. The world has lost a wonderful person, but heaven has gained.
