Obituary of Vincent Alonzo Sweet

SWEET, Vincent Alonzo - 84, Aaldersville, passed away at home on April 2, 2011. Born in New Ross on April 4, 1926 he was the son of the late James and Jennie (McDow) Sweet. Over the years Vincent worked at many things; in the woods, driving truck, in the army, and at CanExel. His most enjoyable times was when he was trapping, fishing, hunting, attending AA meetings, as well as his daily trips to Vittles to eat and socialize with his friends. He also had a passion every year to grow his own tomatoes and cucumbers. Vincent is survived by his wife of 63 years, Greta (Keddy), New Ross; son Eugene (Faye), New Ross; Fred (Bertha), New Ross; sisters Gladys Turbitt, Port Williams; Rose, British Columbia; nephew Ronald (Verna), New Ross; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his son Jerry. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2 pm in the St. James Anglican Cemetery, 7200 Route 12, Aaldersville with Lay Reader Peggy Hamlin officiating; followed by a reception at the New Ross Legion.
