KNOX, David - Wayneì³ - 68, South Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members, on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Mary Gertrude (Power) Knox, Halifax, and the late Karl Russell Knox. Wayne had worked as a Power Engineer at the I.W.K. Children?¢s Hospital, Halifax, until his retirement. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Parish, Berwick, and been on the board of directors for both the Beehive Adult Service Centre in Aylesford and the Berwick Food Bank. Besides his mother he is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Judith Anne - Judyì³ (Gillis) Knox; son, Daniel Wayne; daughter, Dawn Marie (Christopher) Leonard; precious granddaughter, Madison, all of South Berwick; brothers, Karl Joseph (Jeannette); Terrance Dale (Mary), all of Halifax; sister-in-law, Bev Young, Ontario; nieces and nephews, Darin, Joanne, Kenny, Darlene, Kris, Jessica, Michael, Matthew, Russell, Wendy, Raylin, Lori, Melinda, Norman, Raymond, Patricia; several great nieces and great nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Rosiare; sister, Pauline Ruby (Wayne) Mountain; niece, Cathy. Visitation for Wayne will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday, with a Prayer Service at 8 p.m., Friday, both in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 120 Mill St., Berwick. Rev. Fr. Larry Pitcher officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Berwick Food Bank or to the Palliative Care Program of Annapolis Valley Health.
