Halliday, Wellington Austin ( - Wellyì³) - 73 of Digby passed away at Yarmouth Regional Hospital with his family by his side on March 2, 2011. Born in Digby, Welly was the son of the late Victor and Myrtle (Vantassell) Halliday. Welly was an avid golfer and scalloped fished for several years before joining the Department of Fisheries for 27 years. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Welly is survived by his wife Joan, son Richard (Helen), daughter Shaunda (Kevin) McCully, grandchildren Austin, Douglas, Kasha and Kalesha. Brother Dale (Barb) Halliday, sister Heather (Roger) Hirtle. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. No visitation. Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home & Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS B4P 1E7.
