It is with my saddest heart that I learned via the internet of the passing of my grandfather Everette. I only wish that times were different in that I wouldchr(39)ve been able to be there for such an amazing manchr(39)s tribute to his life who for so many years made me laugh whenever we were together and gave me so much insight into the rights and wrongs of life.
I know that he wouldchr(39)ve wanted his entire extended family together to celebrate his life rather than mourning and it is with great regret and misfortune that this was not able to take place.
Dear Everette-
Thank you for coming into my life and making peace with the path in which life took you. Thank you for having a relationship with Rocky that you hadnchr(39)t had for so many years and thank you for bringing some sort of peace into his life. Thank you most of all for being you, for having such a beautiful voice that I remember so dearly you sharing at my very first dance recital as a business owner. You will be dearly missed.
With love always - Your grandaughter - Beckie

Dear Leslie and Calvin,
I extend to you and your families my sincere sympathy on the death of your Dad, Everett, on February 9, 2011. Everett was a valued member for many years of the congregation of Wesley Memorial United Church and its choir here in Moncton. I counted it a privilege to know him and consider him as a friend. Everettââ?‰?¢s singing voice was appreciated by all who heard him. I value a tape he gave me some years ago in appreciation for encouragement I gave him to take a trip to Africa as part of a church delegation. On his return he was telling his friends at Wesley Memorial that in the African country he visited business men when they got together had no hesitation in speaking about the Bible and God; a real contrast to Canadian business men!
I admired your Dadââ?‰?¢s voice and the feeling he put into his singing. I made it known to my children that if they were seeking a soloist for my funeral, I would appreciate them asking Everett. Also, Everett helped me with his musical talent several years ago. As President of the Moncton Area Council of Churches I was organizing a worship service for Pentecost at Lââ?‰?¢Assomption Cathedral in Moncton. I wanted a hymn that spoke of the broken relationship between the French and English, the Roman Catholics and the Protestants. Searching through the United Church of Canada hymnbook, ââ?¬Ã
?Voices Unitedââ?¬ÃÂ, I found ââ?¬Ã
?Out of the Depths, O God, We Call to Youââ?¬ÃÂ, the first verse of which reads:
"Out of the depths, O God, we call to you.
Wounds of the past remain, affecting all we do.
Facing our lives, we need your love so much.
Here in this community, heal us by your touch."
I asked your Dad if he might sing that as a solo during this service. It was an unfamiliar tune but he agreed to do so and it fitted into the service so beautifully. I hope that it spoke to others who attended that service.
Everett had a great compassion for those who were less fortunate that most of us. He championed the causes of justice and poverty. In his memory and in appreciation for his friendship and his witness at Wesley Memorial, I am making a donation to the Mission and Service fund of our congregation.
Again, sincere sympathy on the death of your Dad. May the knowledge of the good he had done in his time with our congregation help you through this time of loss.
Sincerely, Craig Dickson

Dear Rocky;
I was shocked and saddened when I learned of the death of your dear beloved Father. Ichr(39)ve known Everett since I arrived in the Moncton area in 1982 and in all of that time I considered him my friend. He was always available to render his time and talent to any endeavour that he considered worthy. He will be dearly missed by all of us who knew him and his memory will always live within our hearts. My deepest love, prayers and sympathy go out to you and all members of your family.
Respectfully;
J. A. (Skip) Talbot

I was very sorry to hear about Everettchr(39)s passing. My deepest sympathies go to you, his family. I had the pleasure of working with Everett for many years at Radio-Canada. He was always a gentleman, always personable. He had a smile that would light up a room and boy, could he ever dance, smooth as silk.
Every time we would meet, we would talk about our respective families, he dearly loved his. To him life was meant to be experienced to its fullest. He found so many things to do after retirement, it was admirable.
So long old friend

We wish to share with you , our memories of your Father. We would meet him often
in the Champlain mall.I was always greeted with a hand shake and a smile. My wife Angela would give him a hug so hard , it always made him laugh. Everette
knew we cared for him. Many times , I had the chance to visite him at home on
maple street. We remember at the Westley Memorial Church, they were having a three day seminar called ... A Spirit For All Sessons ...If you remember,
your DAD had a wonderful voice. We were in a groupe of about 90 and that day,
Everette shared with the Church members, the story of his Life...
Afterward, he sang a gospel song in accapella, with such strong emotion, after,,
for one whole minute there was complete silence. Then , the room erupted in
applause. Your DAD wiped away his tears, as did my wife, and many more. He
was surrounded with church members, and received hand shake of understanding,
and hugs. Every christmas we sent him a card. He was our FRIEND, and he knew
we loved him. Our sincere sympathy...

Dear Family,
It is with sadness that I read about your fatherchr(39)s passing. I worked with him at Radio-Canada Moncton. I always admired him for his calmness, he was as cool as cool can be. His laugh was genuine and he loved a good laugh.
He always had a good word about his kids.
