WOOLAVER, Judge Phillip Raymond - Ninkì³ (QC) ---- The family of Judge Phillip Raymond Woolaver - Ninkì³, (QC) announce with sorrow, his death on Tuesday, February 8th, 2011. Dad was born in Hantsport, October 15, 1925, son of the late Edwin and Pearl (Harvie) Woolaver. Dad was predeceased by sisters, Regina (Jine) and Greta (Jim), as well as all his brothers, Lloyd, Douglas, John, Robert and Edward, and sadly by infant sons, Nathan and James, and beloved grandson, Nathaniel. Dad leaves his wife, Shirley (Hamilton) who he met shortly after returning to Digby after his tour of duty in Europe in the RCAF. Also, daughter, Pearl and sons, Lance, Max and George. Grampy, his favourite name, leaves behind grandchildren, Aran (Krista), Sara (Mark), Lance Jr. (Rina), young Shirley (Richard), Leslie (Jonathan) Hannah, Alex and Georgia Rose. Dad felt truly blessed when he great-grandchildren started visiting Bear River, and he took them through Gorilla Country (One of the best figments of Dad?¢s mind). Elias, Jacques and Lauren Rose MacInnis, Abbie Pearl and Clara Elizabeth Dexter, with cousins, Glen and Jeremy Woolaver have wonderful memories of Grampy. He is survived by sisters-in-law Marie Woolaver, Geraldine Hedberg, Brenda Woolaver and Phylis Dixon. His daughters-in-law, Martha, Ellen and Andrea will miss his daily phone calls that always started: - This is Grampy, nothing on my mind, but Â¦Â¦ì³ He treasured his large clan of nieces and nephews. Their names were mentioned often as he fondly remembered their growing up. Dad moved to Digby when he was two and lived in Digby County, except for the war (air crew RCAF) and university. He loved Digby: Front Street, back alley, the wharf, Acacia Valley, Jordan Town, down The Neck, on the Islands, Smith?¢s Cove, The Pines (golf course), Mistake Brook for fishing, and dearest of all the family life on Second Avenue. Dad loved the people of Digby and all the characters that stayed alive in his incredible mind. He served the people of Digby in too many ways to mention. Dad and his family received the best of care in the Palliative Care Unit of Annapolis Valley Health Centre. The family would like to see his incredible facility remain open to serve others. Donations may be made to Annapolis West Health Foundation, Palliative Care in Dad?¢s memory. Family and friends are invited to a service and reception in the Digby Legion (Mount Street) on Monday, February 14th, at 2 p.m.
