RICHARDSON, JOHN EVERETT - 64, Lower Vaughan, formerly of Indian Harbor,NS, passed away February 6, 2011 in Windsor, NS due to a short battle with kidney cancer. He was the son of the late James Arthur and Hazel Blanche (Boutilier) Richardson of Indian Harbor. John was a Quartermaster on the ship Sir John A. MacDonald with Department of Transportation and made his maiden voyage to the north on July 1, 1967. He left the ship in 1972, and went to work for Tuff-Kote Rustproofing and from there he was employed with John Otto at the ESSO service station in Beechville. It was at this place of employment that he decided to take the Automobile Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. In 1989, he worked privately for himself and then managed the Irving Oil gas station at Hackett?¢s Cove from 1990-1993. In 1993, he built a new garage on his property in Tantallon where he worked until moving to Lower Vaughn in 1995. John thoroughly enjoyed family, friends, hunting, fishing and camping. He was a hard worker, true to his friends and a good man. He is survived by his son, Dean Richardson (Robyn), grandchildren Sammie-Rae, Jezzica-Mae and Cody, great grandsons Brodie and Brandon. He is also survived by brother, Charles Edward Richardson ( Lenora) nephews Brian and Michael Richardson (Janet) . John was very close to his cousin Gary Richardson ( Betty). Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, James (Jamie) 1949. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Unit 200, Hants Community Hospital. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville. No visitation or service by request. Private family gathering at a later date.
