BENEDICT, Arthur William - 79, Windsor, passed away peacefully in the QE11, Halifax on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. Born in Martock; he was the son of the late Theodore and Lexander (Millen) Benedict. Arthur belonged to the Lions Club for 45 years where he was the Past District Governor. He was a member of the Maritime Fiddlers Association and of the King?¢s Fiddlers. He was also with the Hants County Cruisers Antique Car Club. As well Arthur was a member of the Juniper Grove United Church in Falmouth. He retired at 55 from his teaching position of 35 years. Arthur is survived by his loving wife Connie (Hines); daughters, Anne (George) Whalen, Dartmouth; Cheryl Techentin, Calgary; five grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He is predeceased by his son Dwight; and sister Florence. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation at the family?¢s request. A tribute will be held at the Windsor United Church, 613 King Street, Windsor, NS; on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Reverend William (Bill) Gibson officiating. Family flowers only.
