JOLLIMORE, Frederick Gordon - 92, Harmony Branch Rd., Kings Co. In memory of Frederick Gordon Jollimore, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away at 8:00 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville., after a long illness. He was born on November 23, 1918 and was the fifth child of the late William George and Margaret Theresa (Davis) Jollimore, and he grew up in Jollimore Village on the Northwest Arm. Frederick worked as a mechanic at the Nova Scotia Department of Highways before and after the Second World War. He served in the Canadian Army from 1939-1944 in the Artillery defending London during the blitz and received a medical discharge in 1944 with a lung condition caused by fumes from the fires. Frederick also worked at the Department of National Defense Motor Pool and finally for Coughlan Monument Works. He enjoyed model railroading and carpentry and was also a skilled stonecutter and mason. Frederick was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for over 60 years and was associated with the Kingston East Congregation of 37 years. He loved his dogs and nature. Surviving are his wife of 67 years and war bride, Winnifred Olive (Honeyman-Bull) Jollimore; sons, Peter William (Carmelita); Frederick Arthur; Bruce Thomas (Linda); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Donald James. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant daughter; five brothers; eight sisters. There will be no visitation in the funeral home as cremation has already taken place. Memorial service for Frederick will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 22, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, 337 Hwy # 1, Kingston, with Mr. Philip Spinney officiating. Burial will take place in St. John's Cemetery, Halifax, at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Watch Tower Society or to the Kingston East Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
