GALE, Williamina Derby - 86, South Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Williamina D. Brown. Williamina emigrated to Canada as a war bride in 1946. She had worked at Sears in Halifax, and along with her late husband owned and operated Fred?¢s Grocery in Herring Cove for many years. Williamina was an avid bingo player, enjoyed her garden and had a passion for knitting. Surviving are her sons, Ronald, Oshawa, Ont.; Kenneth (Rosalie), Bridgetown; Marie (John) Nelson, South Berwick; Shirley (Charles) Hynes, Victoria, B.C.; Judy (John) Engram, Edmonton, Alberta; Angela (Greg) Gibson, Ottawa, Ont.; grandchildren, Brent, John, Todd, Tracy, Christine, Colleen, Michael, Stephen, Brendon, Leigh-Ann, Ryan, Shaun and Trina; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Potts, Scotland; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred P. Gale; daughter, Pricilla, in infancy; sister, Mary Corner. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend the Graveside Service for Mrs. Gale at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 31, in the Berwick Cemetery, Main St., Berwick, with Lay Chaplain Jim Norton officiating. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Children?¢s Wish Foundation of Canada or to any charity.
