GRANT (Hamilton), Barbara Ellen - 69, of Lawrencetown, formerly of Hampton; passed away Wednesday, September 1st at Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, following a battle with cancer. Born September 19, 1940 in Hampton, she was the fourth of six children born to Alice (Longmire) & Wilfred Hamilton. Barbara worked as a Service Representative with Maritime Tel & Tel in Halifax and later in Kentville for 30 years, until her retirement in 1992. During those years, she & Peter commuted on the weekends to their home on the Shore of the Bay of Fundy in Hampton; and where Barbara resided up until last year. Besides her parents, Barbara was pre-deceased by her husband, Peter in 2008; as well as sisters Gladys Barrette & Norma Campbell. She is survived by two sisters Lola (Harold) Gladwin, Waverley; and Carol Ann (Wayne) Forrest, Brooklyn; one brother Carl (Dorothy), Lawrencetown; along with her Niece and God-daughter Jayne (Stephen) Gladwin-Green & her children Liam & Chelsea, Waverley; along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Remains have been entrusted to Serenity and H C Lindsay Funeral Homes, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS. B4P 1E7. At Barbara?¢s request, there will be no service or visitation. Internment will follow at a later date. Donations in Barbara?¢s memory may be made to the Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation, PO Box 730, Middleton, NS B0S 1P0. Special thanks to Dr. Julia Merryweather and her Oncology Team at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville; and Dr. Paul MacLean and the Nursing Staff on the 3rd Floor at Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton for their wonderful support & care through Barbara?¢s illness.
