RUSSELL, Paul McLeod - 76, Seffernsville, Lunenburg County passed away on August 7, 2010 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Ross he was a son of the late Ernest and Annie Mae (Alders) Russell. Paul started his career as a paratrooper and served in the Armed Forces for over 20 years in Ontario and Nova Scotia. He served 6 months peacekeeping in Egypt. Paul was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #9, Windsor. Paul is survived by his daughter Cindy (Wayne) MacKinnon, Falmouth; grandsons Shawn Acker and Michael MacKinnon; his first wife and friend Eleanor (Matheson) Russell; sisters Marie Reeves, Halifax, Della Hiltz, Bridgewater, Shirley (Parker) Reeves, Oromocto, NB; sister in laws, Mavis Russell, New Ross and Melba Russell, Hantsport; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Paul was predeceased by a son, Paul Ernest at age 2 and a daughter Lucinda Ann in infancy; sisters Helen and Gladys; brothers Edward and Gordon. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday August 10, 2010 in H C Lindsay Funeral Home, 38 Forties Road, New Ross. A Funeral will be held Wednesday August 11, 2010 at 2:00 pm from the Christ Anglican Church, New Ross with Ed Trevors officiating. Burial will be in the Christ Anglican Church Cemetery, New Ross. A reception will be held in the New Ross Legion following the interment. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Palliative / Hospice Care.
