BURNS, John Robert - Bobì³ - 77, Kentville passed away suddenly on June 27, 2010 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville he was a son of the late Hugh and Bella (Redden) Burns. Bob was a devoted resident of Kentville where he was raised and lived on Main Street. Bob graduated from the Rothesay Collegiate School. He was a accomplished business man who among other things owned and operated Valley Pak Refuse. Bob was an avid sports fan and enthusiast as well as an accomplished athlete playing hockey and Rugby, thus his nickname of - Bruiserì³. Bob enjoyed travelling and he made many friends throughout the world. Bob is survived by his sons, Patrick (Marion), Kentville, Terry (Lisa), Nanaimo, BC; grand children Brittney, Kurtis, Benjamin, Brett and Chelse; sisters Carolyn (Kenneth) Clark, Peachland, BC, Sharon (Douglas) McKay, Nanaimo, BC and brother Frank, Kentville; former wife Mary Jane Burns, Nanaimo, BC and former wife Doreen Cook, Blue Rocks, Lunenburg Co. Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by a sister Diane in infancy. Visitation will be Wednesday June 30 from 7-9 pm in the Valley Gate Vineyard church, 437 Main St. Kentville where funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday July 1, 2010 with Rik Berry officiating. Interment will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in Bob?¢s memory may be made to the Portal Youth Center Downtown Kentville C/O Valley Gate Vineyard.
