PARKS, Willis Leslie - 65, Aylesford, Kings Co. It is with regret that the family announce the passing of Willis Leslie Parks, on Saturday, June 12, 2010. He passed away peacefully at home with family and his beloved dog, Lily by his side. Willis was born in Aylesford, and was a son of the late Walter and Bertha (Parks) Parks. He was an award winning architectural designer and known for his many home and commercial designs. His home designs have been built from Newfoundland to British Columbia. Willis was an admirer of the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. He also had a great love of painting and had won international recognition for his work. Willis is survived by his wife, Elaine (Graves Peel) Parks; step-sons, Frank (Margaret) Peel, Aylesford; Derek (Lallaine) Peel, Totteham, Ont.; sisters, Olive (Ken) Luddington, Auburn; Maxine (Weldon) Mosher, Musquodoboit Harbour; sister-in-law, Barbara Parks, Coldbrook; many nieces and nephews. As well as his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Aubrey; nephew, Anthony. Visitation for Willis will take place 7-9 p.m., Monday evening, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 15, Reverend Freda MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place in the Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Margaret Salsman Cancer Care Patient Navigator Memorial Fund or to any charity. A special thank you from the family to the Doctors, Nurses, Palliative Care and the Victorian Order of Nurses for their support during this difficult time.
