OULTON, Bonnie Jeanette ?쳌 Born December 17, 1950, died May 30, 2010, with her devoted daughter Annie Loretta as well as her brothers and sisters by her side. Many of us knew her as "Bawnie" or "Bawn". An artist by nature, she was active as a musician and writer. Bawnie was a founding member of several successful groups: The Ardorfolk (Windsor, 1966), Peppertree (Halifax, 1967), and The Wonderful Grand Band (St. John's N.L., 1977). Her beautiful smoky baritone was unique and memorable and set her apart in her generation. Bawnie wrote daily and published two books of poetry. She had a talent for capturing and putting into words those moments and feelings we all know so well. Bawnie was a strong woman; she believed in and celebrated the strength of women alone and collectively. She believed in the goodness of people and approached each day with infectious humor and an attitude of love and forgiveness. Bawn was a friend of Bill. Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Annie L.S.F.O. Hennessey, and Annie's father, Bryan Hennessey (St. John's N.L.); brothers and sisters, Judy (Bill), Mike (Dianne), David (Dianne), Dianne (Ron), Jim (Blye), Bill (Janet), Lorelei (Stan), Cindy; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of friends in Nova Scotia and in St. John's, N.L., where she lived and worked for many years. Bonnie was predeceased by her mother, Polly (Aylward); father, Bob; and nephews, Bradford Parsons and Lee Rob Spencer. She will be deeply missed.
