Our deepest sympathy to you all. We knew your parents when your Dad was our pastor at the Port Bickerton United Baptist Church. He was not only our pastor but our neighbour and friend as well. We enjoyed many wonderful times together with your parents. May your memories of times together keep him close in your hearts. Our sympathy.

Dear Gardner family,
On behalf of the church family at New Minas Baptist, I want to express our deepest sympathies. While here in the area, I had a few occasions to visit your parents. Both were faithful servants of the Lord and are now reunited with one another and their Saviour they served.
Also, as President of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, I want to express the sympathy of our wider Baptist family. Horace was a faithful Pastor in our churches over the years and touched many lives. His service was much appreciated.
I regret that I cannot attend the funeral service. Rev. Sterling Gosman, our Pastor of Visitation, will represent the Pastoral Staff. I trust you will feel the peace of God surrounding you during this time of loss, and that the hope of resurrection will bring you comfort.
Sincerely,
Dr. Robert Knowles
Senior Pastor, New Minas Baptist Church
President, Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches

It is with respect and love for your Father that I send to you my deepest feeling of
lost. I knew your mother and Dad very well and when I was in the Kentville area we shared a lot about ministry. It was my privilege to conduct the funeral for your mother, and it was my privilege to have loved them both. God Bless all of you and the memory of their lives serving the Lord. Ed & Elaine Shaw

Dear Family Horace Gardner,
Please accept my condolences on your loss.
I found comfort in the hope for our dear loved ones that is expressed in the Bible at Psalm 37:29 which says: "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."
We can be assured that when wickedness is wiped out from the earth and it is restored to a paradise like the Garden of Eden as God originally purposed, our loved ones will return to life on earth. John 5: 28,29 tells us that "...The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out ..."
In the Lordchr(39)s Prayer that most of us pray we ask for Godchr(39)s Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Then there will be no more sorrow or pain as we are promised at Revelation 21:3,4. It reads in part: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, ... And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.ââ?¬ÃÂ
I hope these words bring a measure of comfort in your time of loss.
Sincerely,
Sandra Sullivan

To the Gardner Family...
It is with sadness we found notice of your dear Fatherchr(39)s passing. Our ministry paths crossed several years ago while your folks were pastoring in the Port Bickerton, NS congregations. We enjoyed their fellowship and witnessed their commitment to the preaching of the Gospel. Faithful servants indeed.
We extend our deepest sympathy in your loss. May our Lord comfort you all. Heaven has resounded with joy at his homegoing!
Blessings upon you.

Hello Rod:
Itchr(39)s been over thirty years since I last saw you. I have wonderful memories when we were all teenagers and going to your home in Port Maitland, etc. We were saddened to hear the news of the passing of your father, Rev. Horace Gardner. I am certain that your sense of loss and your grief at this time is very deeply felt. Your father was a respected Pastor and leader among us and will be greatly missed. I am sure you have many wonderful memories of your father to help you celebrate his life. Please be assured that your friends in the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches are praying for you and your family during these difficult days.
I do not have your contact information to send this request at a later date. Each year at Convention Assembly we have a Memorial Moment for pastors who have served in the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. At that time the name as well as a photo of the pastors who have passed on since the previous Assembly is presented during a Memorial Moment. This will take place Saturday 21, 2010 at Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick.
Would you please give permission for Rev. Gardnerchr(39)s photo to be shown during the Memorial Moment? If you grant permission for Rev. Gardnerchr(39)s photo to be shown during the Memorial Moment, please email the photo to lottie.reid@baptist-atlantic.ca
May you feel Godââ?‰?¢s comfort in these days.
Blessings,
Mrs. Lottie Reid (Hatfield)
