WALSH, Adelbert Edmond ?ì³ 83, Greenfield, passed away on May 23, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Cambridge, Mass. He was a son of the late Adelbert Clarence and Evelyn (Harris) Walsh. Dell was a finish master carpenter who started doing finish work at the early age of 14 when he worked with his father on churches in Massachusetts. Dell worked with Wabush Mines for seven years where he was the union president with the USW Local 6285. He worked for Gulf Oil Canada Ltd at the refinery in Port Hawkesbury for five years. Dell is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Rosemary (Harris); sons, Bradford (Muriel Travis) Canning, granddaughter Makena; Dell Jr (Kimberly Forsythe), Centreville, grandchildren, Jamie, Brandon and Damien; Shannon (Natasha), Canning, grandchildren Alicia and Trai; daughters, Charmine (Trevor) Hanson, Calgary, grandchildren Nakita and Kyla; Lillian (Charlie) Newcomb, Florida, grandchildren Scott, Brian and Tracey; grandchildren, Deborah, Dena and Crystal Dale and several great grandchildren; brother, Arthur (Ruth), Rochester, N.H.; sister, Patricia (Paul) Drowns, USA and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Dell was predeceased by his first wife, Greta Evelyn (Benjamin) Walsh; son, Joseph; daughter, Juanita; brothers, Allen and Wayne; sister, Joan Hall. A funeral memorial service will be held Wednesday May 26, at 1:30 p.m. in Serenity Funeral Home Chapel, Wolfville with John Holleman officiating. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Dell's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
