Obituary of Faye Olivia Thomas

THOMAS, Faye Olivia - 80, Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Aylesford East, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in South Berwick, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Whitford and Gertrude (Drew) Conrad. Faye along with her father owned and operated Conrad?¢s Canteen in South Berwick for many years and she later worked at the Red and White Store in Berwick. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, David W. Thomas, Fundy Villa, Berwick; son, David (Elizabeth) Thomas, North Kingston; grandchildren, Meghaen (Mark Greene) Markey-Thomas, Kentville; Justin Markey-Thomas, North Kingston; great-grandson, Brandon Thomas-Greene, Kentville; sister, Kelsey (Warren) Herman, South Berwick; half-sister, Kathleen Cappell, Grand View Manor, Berwick; half-brother, Marshall Drew; sisters-in-law, Pauline Conrad; Yvonne Conrad, all of South Berwick; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Delbert and Carmen Conrad. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private graveside service will take place in the Aylesford Union Cemetery, Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders officiating. All are welcome to a reception for Faye from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, May 19, in the Fundy Villa B Lounge, 108 Commercial St., Berwick. Donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society.
