BLIGH, Thomas Lindsay - 83, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at his home, after a lengthy battle with heart disease and cancer. Born in 1926, at the family farm in Lakeville, Kings Co., he was a son of the late Emerson and Creta (Graham) Bligh. Thomas was a graduate of Mack Business College in Kentville and participated in a farm training program at the Agricultural College in Truro. Surviving are his devoted and loving wife, Audrey (Swindell) Bligh, Berwick; son, Brian (Sue) Bligh, Lakeville; grandchildren, Emma Lee, Lindsay and Zachary; brother, Graham (Jeanne) Bligh, Dartmouth. Besides his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his first wife, Betty (Hansen) Bligh of Windsor. He was always particularly proud of the accomplishments of his grandchildren. For many years he managed the family farm on Tory Lane, Lakeville, where due to market circumstances the primary focus changed from apples and potatoes to dairy and beef cattle. After the sale of the farm and retirement Thomas moved to Berwick and enjoyed fishing, hunting and wood working. He cherished times at the cottage in Harbourville and the special events with many friends and neighbours. There will be no visitation. Funeral service for Thomas will take place 2 p.m., Friday, April 30, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross Society or to any charity. A special thank you from the family to Katrinia Patterson, R.N., and Dr. Lori Burgess of the Palliative Care Team, the Annapolis Valley Branch of the Victorian Order of Nurses, Dianne Brewer, Alden and Linda Keddy for all the trips to Halifax, and to Bud and Lillian Ewing for all the trips to Kentville.
