Batson, Nigel Harold, 87, of New Ross, passed away Tuesday April 6, 2010 in the Veteran?¢s Wing of the Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in London England, he was the son of the late Harold and Eve Batson. Nigel was a Veteran of World War II and worked for the R.A.F. Coastal Command 220 Squadron as a pilot. He retired as Captain in the R.C.A.F. Nigel always had a great crew to work with and enjoyed his career immensely. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and kindness. Nigel is survived by his wife of over 62 yrs. Margaret Batson, New Ross; son, Paul (Joyclin Coates) Batson, Timberlea; grandson, Trevor, Timberlea. Besides his parents, Nigel was predeceased by his sister, Daphne Batson. A legion service will take place at 2 p.m. followed by visitation until the time of the funeral at 3 p.m. Saturday April 10 in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross. Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. Interment will take place in Christ Anglican Church Cemetery followed by a reception in the lower level of the Legion. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital Veteran?¢s Wing or to the Alzheimer?¢s Society of Nova Scotia.
