Obituary of Michael Broome

BROOME, Michael Ira "Beaker" ?쳌 58 of New Ross, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ira and Ethel (Keddy) Broome. Michael worked for the department of highways - traffic control. He had a love of all sports, especially hockey, and was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was heavily involved in the Chester Jr. and Sr. Hockey leagues. He was presented with an award for his volunteer work for the hockey leagues. He was also a fan of baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. Mike also enjoyed antique cars. He will be missed by his friends and family. Michael is survived by his son, Christopher; grandson, Ira; aunt, Alice and many friends. Visitation for Mike will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday March 25 in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 38 Forties Rd., New Ross, NS B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961). A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 26 in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross, Rev. Frances Boutilier officiating. Interment will take place in Christ Anglican Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the New Ross Fire Department, Christ Anglican Church (New Ross) or Canadian Cancer Society.
