Hopkins, Betty Joyce - 80, Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010, in the Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Sarah (Burns) Wagner. Betty was a member of the Aylesford United Church, the Aylesford U.C.W., High Tide Drifters Camping Club and the F.C.R.V. She had lived in Indiana for 40 years before returning to the valley. Surviving are her husband, Phillip F. Hopkins, Aylesford; step-children, Charles (Elaine) Hopkins, Saskatoon, Sask.; Mary Kennard, Hammonds Plains; Christine (Mike Lane) Hopkins, Halifax; several step-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence (Tracy) Wagner, Kentville; sisters, D. Evangeline Clark, Evergreen Home For Special Care, Kentville; Marjorie Brewster, New Minas; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Graydon McFatridge; second husband, James McFatridge; brothers, Ralph, Douglas and Clifford Wagner; sisters, Vera Brinton; Eleanor Wight; Anna Wagner; Doris O`Brien. There will be no visitation. Funeral service for Betty will take place 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 16, in the H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Wayne Mitton officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery and a reception to follow in the funeral home. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society or to any charity.
