BLENUS, Robert Donald -- 73, of Canning, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, in his home in Canning. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late Arthur and Minnie (Crocker) Blenus. Robert was a hard worker. He worked as a roofer most of his life. He was an avid cattle farmer and enjoyed attending cattle auctions. Robert was known for being a "social butterfly"; he had many friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Pansy, Canning; daughters, Judy (Robert Hines) Blenus, Kentville; Mary (Tony) McBride, Scott's Bay Road; Linda Baglole, Cambridge; four stepdaughters; one stepson; brother, Lloyd (Sylvia) Blenus, Blockhouse; sister, Eileen (George) Holt, Wolfville; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Robert will be especially missed by Curtis and Danny Yorke. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his brothers, Ralph, Laurie, Wayne and Cecil; granddaughter, Victoria; great-granddaughter, Isabelle. There will be no visitation by the family's request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 7, in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Homes & Crematorium 5, Leverett Ave., Kentville, NS B4N 2K5 (902-678-2151). Chaplain Jim Norton officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Canada, Maritime Region, or to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
