BROWN, Lillian Rachel-- 85, Berwick, Kings Co., formerly of Aylesford East, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2010, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Aylesford East, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Inez (Burgoyne) Meldrum. Lillian had worked for many years on the family farm with her late husband, Laurie and had also worked at M.W. Graves Ltd., Berwick. Lillian loved her flower gardens, tending to her African Violets and those long Sunday drives with Laurie. She was a kind neighbor and extended a helping hand to many. She was a member of the Morristown United Baptist Church. Surviving are her half-brother, Paul Meldrum, Halifax; several nieces and nephews and close friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Laurie Brown; son, Winfred Brown; brothers, Gerald and Harold Meldrum; half-brothers, Ernest, Owen, Paul Ford and Edgar Meldrum. Visitation for Lillian will take place from 9:30 - 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m. Monday, both in H.C. Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, NS B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), Rev. Brian Wheaton officiating, with burial in Aylesford Union Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. A special thank you from the family to Dr. MacInnis, Dr. Merryweather, the nursing staff on the Medical Unit of Valley Regional Hospital and to Peggy and Eric Silver and their staff at Silvers Rest Home, Berwick, for love and care shown to Lillian.
